What’s in a name? Austin Schools kicks off new middle school naming campaign
Austin’s new fifth- and sixth-grade intermediate school may soon have a name.
Austin Public Schools officials are inviting the public to help name the new school. Residents can voice their opinions on the district’s website as of Tuesday afternoon until June 30.
The Austin Public School board finalized its naming policy for new schools and buildings Monday, officially kicking off the naming campaign. The board will choose a subcommittee to review the names and make a recommendation to the board in August. Board members have final say over the new school name and are expected to pick by the end of the year.
