NFL Picks: Thanksgiving brings Thursday games
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and here are the picks:
New England at Detroit
Pick: LIONS
Let’s see we have a Patriots team that may be a little too pleased with themselves after beating the Colts and we have a Detroit team that has played just about everyone tough.
With the game on national television and Tom Brady’s health in question, I think the Pats could be walking into a ‘Lion’s Den.’
New Orleans at Dallas
Pick: SAINTS
Dallas has won two since Wade Phillips was fired, but that initial surge of a new coach has to wear off at some point, because they are not a good team.
Look for the defending champs to make a statement to the entire league on national television.
Cincinnati at New York Jets
Pick: JETS
The Bengals are a mess and the Jets always seem to make the right plays at the right time.
Jacksonville at New York Giants
Pick: GIANTS
Jags are picking up the pace, but it’ll be a tough task to take down a Giants team that is coming off a loss.
Pittsburgh at Buffalo
Pick: STEELERS
Cake walk.
Tennessee at Houston
Pick: TEXANS
The Titans don’t even know who their quarterback is after the latest Vince Young fiasco. They are about set to crumble.
Green Bay at Atlanta
Pick: PACKERS
I know I used a significant amount of space in this blog explaining how good the Falcons were and that they are the real deal.
But you know what?
The Packers defense is playing lights out right now and Aaron Rodgers is starting to get the timing back with his receivers. He hasn’t thrown in an interception in the last three games after being rather careless with the ball early on.
Carolina at Cleveland
Pick: BROWNS
The Browns still have some fight left in them.
Minnesota at Washington
Pick: VIKINGS
The players who wanted Brad Childress gone will be pumped up for this one.
Kansas City at Seattle
Pick: CHIEFS
Always pick against the NFC West.
Miami at Oakland
Pick: RAIDERS
Neither of these teams are headed anywhere.
Philadelphia at Chicago
Pick: EAGLES
With the Bears luck, I could see Mike Vick getting hurt on the first play of the game and then LeSean McCoy goes down on the play after that.
But reality should hold up against a Bears team that isn’t as good as it’s record.
St. Louis at Denver
Pick: BRONCOS
Broncos should get it done at home in the cold against a dome team.
Tampa Bay at Baltimore
Pick: RAVENS
Tampa Bay is quietly moving up into contention, but this game should knock them back to Earth.
San Diego at Indianapolis
Pick: COLTS
Chargers have looked better than they are while playing in a terrible division.
San Francisco at Arizona
Pick: CARDINALS
How this game got put on prime time is beyond me.
Last week: 12-4
