4 killed in pickup-semi collision in Pine County
PINE CITY, Minn. (AP) — Sheriff’s officials in eastern Minnesota say four people killed and a fifth injured in a collision between a semi and a pickup truck were from the area where the crash occurred, which is near a small farming community in Pine County.
Those killed in the collision near Askov include two men, ages 58 and 21, a 20-year-old woman and 17-year-old girl. A 21-year-old man was injured. All were in the pickup. The semi driver wasn’t hurt.
Chief Deputy Steven Blackwell says some of the victims are related and some are boyfriends or girlfriends. Blackwell says at least three of the victims were in the cab of the pickup and one or two people were in the bed when the driver turned in front of the semi at an intersection Tuesday evening.
