RCC’s Raggs named player of the week

In a key week of contests for the Riverland Community College men’s basketball team, Deandre Raggs stepped up his game in wins over Minnesota West CTC and Anoka-Ramsey Community College. He took home Southern Division Player-of-the-Week honors in the process.

The sophomore from Minneapolis was 11-of-15 from the field and 13-of-19 from the foul line in scoring a total of 36 points for the Blue Devils. He also hauled in 21 rebounds while picking up four steals, dishing out four assists and adding a blocked shot.

Riverland currently sits at 5-1 in MCAC play and is 17-2 overall. They face Division rivals SCTCC and Rochester Community and Technical College this week in a pair of important match-ups.
