Southland student honored by Mower Co. Pork Producers

The Mower County Pork Producers have named Lee Kloeckner as its 2011 Ambassador Scholarship winner. Lee was chosen as this year’s Pork Ambassador at the Pork Producers’ banquet and annual meeting which was held on March 23 at the Adams Legion.

Kloeckner is the son John and Barb Kloeckner of Adams. He attends Southland High School. His activities include 4-H, FFA, football, baseball, knowledgebowl, band and church choir. His plans for the future include college and pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine.

Some of Koeckner’s achievements include the “A” honor roll, all-academic honor roll, and letters in band, football and baseball.

Kloeckner is looking forward to the upcoming year in promoting the pork industry and being active in county activities. He will receive a $500 scholarship from the Pork Producers after graduation toward his post-secondary education.
