Target, Red Cross address blood shortage

Donors who give blood to the Red Cross through Aug. 31 will be emailed a $5 Target eGiftcard.

The Red Cross is trying to overcome a chronic summer blood shortage, according to a news release.

Upcoming blood drives in Mower County are:

• Austin:  1-7 p.m., Aug. 24, Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1600 W. Oakland Ave. , and 10 a.m to 3 p.m., Family Video, 101 4th St. SW.

• Brownsdale: 1-7 p.m.,Aug. 15, Our Savior Lutheran Church, 411 W. Main St.

• Le Roy: 1-7 p.m., Aug. 16 Community Center, 204 W. Main St.

Appointments can be scheduled by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
