Hormel Retiree’s breakfast to be held on Tuesday

What’s happening this week you ask? Monday we will be closed for Veterans Day.

Tuesday, Nov. 13, is the next Hormel Retiree’s breakfast. All you retiree’s out there are invited and bring your significant other. There are other retiree’s here that would love to chat and reminisce with you.

Also on Tuesday will be our last AMP class plus graduation. Our last class is Financial Fitness. For older adults today, developing a comprehensive approach to money management is more important than ever.

For one thing, we are living longer and are in better health, overall, during our retirement years than previous generations. In 1959, the average American who was 65 could expect to live another 14 years in retirement, of which roughly 50 percent of that time would be in good health. Today, once people reach age 65, they can expect to live another 19 years and roughly 66 percent of that time will be in good health. You are welcome to join us for this class that starts at 1:30 p.m.

Kay Sea Bingo starts again at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16. If you enjoy Bingo you will have fun here on Friday. Bingo will be held Fridays and Sundays here at the Mower County Senior Center. If you have questions or need more information, feel free to call Larry at 1-507-219-2884.

There are many more things happening this week. Check out the calendar for more events.

Don’t forget our coffee shop where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and sandwich for 50 cents. Tuesday, Nov.13 ,we are having scalloped potatoes and ham in the coffee shop for only $2. You are always welcome at the center.
