Our Savior’s will host guest musician
Guest musician Felix Malpica will lead music at services this weekend at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. At 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening, the church will hold a “Service of Cleansing Water,” a contemplative worship that will include Holy Communion.
On Sunday at 9 and 10:30 a.m., Malpica and a team of Our Savior’s musicians will lead global music in a service titled “Many Voices, One Song.” Families are invited to worship together, and children are asked to bring their school book bags to take part in the “Blessing of the Backpacks.”
Malpica is a graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, with degrees in Spanish and music, and is currently a student at Luther Seminary in St. Paul. He has been involved for many years with Global Mission in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America as a song leader at educational events. Malpica spent this past year as an intern at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rochester.
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is located at 1600 W. Oakland Ave. in Austin. Service times are Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 9 and 10:30 a.m. All are invited.
