Upcoming play relives founding of Alcoholics Anonymous
“Bill W. & Dr. Bob” is coming to the Paramount Theatre Thursday as a humorous show about two gentlemen with drinking problems.
The play revolves around stockbroker Bill Wilson and surgeon Dr. Robert Smith’s meeting, friendship and eventual founding of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Minneapolis-based Illusion Theater will bring “Bill W. & Dr. Bob” to the stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Through an astonishing series of events, Bill W. and Dr. Bob meet and form a relationship, helping to keep each other sober. This work does not imply affiliation with nor approval or endorsement from Alcoholics Anonymous World Services Inc.
A facilitated audience discussion will follow the performance of “Bill W. & Dr. Bob.” Tickets for the play and post-show discussion are $10 for adults and $5 for students. All tickets are $2 more at the door. They can be purchased online at paramounttheatre.org or by calling 507-434-0934.
