Don’t give up the ghost at Southland High School’s “Lady Dither’s Ghost” this Friday; although the plot twists, comedy and musical numbers may have you dying of laughter.

“It is incredible,” said director Madlain Vander. “There’s so much going on, it’s great.”

Vander said the play — which center’s on one woman’s plea to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson to investigate her supposedly haunted home — is one of the best shows she has worked on in her 19 years of stage experience. What’s more, it’s one of her favorite shows that she has worked on in the area.

“The cast is fantastic. I can’t say enough,” Vander said.

Many of the cast members in “Lady Dither’s Ghost” are long-time theater veterans in the area, having done plenty of Summerset Theatre and Matchbox Children’s Theatre productions. Since she has worked with so many of these students before, Vander said the experience has been a joy.

“We’ve got the perfect Sherlock, the perfect Watson. It’s like they were made for these parts,” she said. “They’re so good.”

“Lady Dither’s Ghost” will take place at 7 p.m. March 16 at Southland High School. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children and can be purchased at the door.
