Arrest made after alleged strangulation
A Rose Creek man was arrested and is being held at the Mower County Jail with two counts of felony domestic strangulation after an altercation with his girlfriend Thursday night.
Geronimo Deluna, 34, allegedly strangled his girlfriend after she became upset that Deluna was instructing his dog to attack other dogs in the home. According to Deluna’s roommates, Deluna has recently been training his dog to fight.
Deluna was bit by his dog during the incident and was treated at Austin Medical Center for the injury.
His girlfriend had bruising on her neck and legs, along with blood covering her sweatshirt, but she was not treated.
The couple has been together for seven years and this is the fifth time Deluna has been reported for a domestic incident.
Deluna was arrested at his residence, 100 Oak St. in Rose Creek.
