Decomposing body found in Albert Lea
ALBERT LEA — A resident discovered a dead body in a wooded area in western Albert Lea Saturday afternoon, according to Albert Lea police.
The person discovered the body on the 100 block of Will-O-Bruce Drive after smelling an odor and called police at about 3:40 p.m.
The body was taken to the Dakota County Medical Examiner’s Office, which is standard procedure under unknown circumstances, according to a news release.
More information is expected to be released pending the results of the medical examiner’s office.
Will-O-Bruce Drive is in the Garden Villa subdivision west of Graceland Cemetery and across West Main Street from the Albert Lea Family Y.
The cause of death is unknown, and the no information has been released about the person’s identity.
