Noose reportedly found in Lyle staff member’s office
There are few details about what took place at Lyle Public Schools Thursday, but the matter is still under investigation by the Mower County Sheriff’s office.
Though Lyle Superintendent Jim Dusso did not say Thursday what the incident was, several Lyle residents say someone hung a noose in a staff member’s office.
Dusso released a statement Friday with few new details about what took place. The incident involved a staff member and took place sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday night and 9:30 a.m. Thursday in a staff member’s work area. At no time were students exposed to the incident or in danger, according to the statement, and district officials say the incident was not directed at students.
“We are shocked and deeply concerned about the occurrence of this incident,” Dusso said in the press release. “We take this matter extremely seriously, and as a school we will not tolerate any acts meant to intimidate members of the staff.”
