Best Disposal sells to Waste Management

Best Disposal owners Don and Dori Hagen have sold their business to garbage industry giant Waste Management.

Julie Ketchum of Waste Management confirmed they finalized the deal Aug. 1, but didn’t have specifics yet. Best Disposal only services Austin. According to Ketchum, the Hagens approached Waste Management wanting to sell their business because they wanted to “pursue other career/business opportunities.”

Waste Management has corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, and services nearly 20 million customers in 48 states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico. It has services locally in Rochester and Clarks Grove, as well, according to its website. The disposal company reported $13.37 billion in total revenue in 2011 and a net income of $961 million, according to its website.

The Hagens did not return calls for comment. Best Disposal’s number is 507-433-9489.
