Fair board to host waffle feed

The Mower County Fair Board will host an all-you-can-eat Dad’s Belgian Waffle Breakfast on Sunday at the 4-H Hall on the Mower County Fairgrounds. Fair board members and their families will be serving from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A free-will offering will be collected to raise funds to blacktop the road that leads to the handicap parking area. That area was blacktopped last year thanks to support from Mower County, SKB International, and Vicki Legried and Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial.

Blacktopping the road will allow people with walking difficulties or walkers, canes and wheelchairs to enjoy safer and better access between the parking area and the fair or other events on the grounds. Mower County and SKB Environmental will continue their support of the project, and Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial will match up to $2,500 of the proceeds raised at the waffle breakfast.

The breakfast will include Dad’s Belgian Waffles, numerous flavors of syrup, sausage links, and beverages including milk provided by the Mower County Dairy Association.
