Passerby who threatened wedding guests charged with felonies

An Austin man accused of threatening to shoot at wedding guests at the Hormel Historic Home Saturday night was charged with two felonies Tuesday.

Hassan Beih Mabu-Fardina, 29, was charged in Mower County District Court with terroristic threats and fourth-degree assault of a correctional officer.

According to Police Chief Brian Krueger, guests of the wedding told police Mabu-Fardina had approached them around 9 p.m. saying he wanted to fight.

“You want me to shoot you? Bang bang,” he allegedly said to the guests.

According to Krueger, the man had his hands in his pockets and the guests couldn’t tell if he had a gun. Guests also said he was slurring his words and appeared intoxicated, Krueger said.

Police did not find a gun on Mabu-Fardina when they arrested him.

Mabu-Fardina is scheduled to make his plea Oct. 13..
